The Pathway

The Montessori workforce pipeline. Built, not wished for.

Every school knows the math. There are not enough guides, the people who could become guides cannot afford the training, and the people already in your building doing the work are the ones the field keeps overlooking. We stopped waiting for someone to fix this. The Pathway is the route from first day in a classroom to credentialed guide to school leader, and every step of it exists right now.

The Problem, Plainly

Montessori training has been priced and scheduled for people who can stop working. That has meant the field trains the people who can afford to be trained, not the people already doing the work. Meanwhile schools cover classrooms with unprepared subs, lose assistants who had nowhere to grow, and post lead guide positions that stay empty for a year. The shortage is not a mystery. It is a design failure. So we designed something else.

The Pathway, Step by Step

Five steps. Every one of them exists right now.

01

Start prepared

Pilots

Pilots is the only Montessori-specific certification for substitutes and assistants that exists. Seven hours of real theory, a level-specific track, and a half day observing in a real classroom before anyone is responsible for one. For the person testing whether this work is theirs, and for the school that needs its subs and paras ready before day one.

Become a guide

The Residency

The Residency is a MACTE-track teacher preparation program built for working people. Five thousand dollars, not fifteen. Asynchronous study you can do alongside a job, and a practicum year you are paid for, because training should not require going broke. Paraeducators, assistants, career changers, public school teachers: this was built for you.

Find your school

MatchHub

MatchHub places Montessori educators in schools that share their philosophy, because most hiring failures in Montessori are not about credentials. They are about alignment. Residency graduates get priority access. Schools get candidates who were prepared for the actual work.

Stay supported

The Field Guide

The first years in a classroom are where the field loses people. The Field Guide puts 516 lesson walkthroughs, crisis protocols, and learner support strategies in a guide’s pocket, and every Residency graduate carries it free for their first year.

Grow into leadership

The Institute

Some guides become heads of school. Most heads were handed the job without being formed for it. The Institute exists so that leadership in this field is something you are prepared for, not something that happens to you.

Where Do You Start?

Find yourself here.

You work in a classroom without a credential.

Start with Pilots if you want ground under your feet this month. Start with the Residency if you are ready to become a guide. Your experience is not a gap to apologize for. It is a head start.

You lead a school that cannot find guides.

Stop recruiting from a pool that does not exist and start building one. Certify your subs and assistants through Pilots, sponsor your strongest people through the Residency by covering the $5,000 tuition, and hire aligned candidates through MatchHub. The schools that solve the shortage will be the ones that grow their own.

You are changing careers.

You do not need prior Montessori experience to begin. You need a bachelor’s degree, a commitment to equity, and the willingness to be formed by the work. The Residency was designed for exactly this crossing.

You teach in a public or charter school.

You were handed a Montessori classroom and told to figure it out. We have been inside public Montessori for decades and built this pathway with your schedule, your budget, and your reality in mind.

The Commitment Underneath It

Every step of the Pathway was built on the same conviction: the people closest to children deserve preparation that respects them, costs that do not exclude them, and schools that are worthy of them. That is not a tagline. It is the design constraint everything above was built against.
