A short check. A thoughtful follow-up.

Before the child begins

A guide chooses an appropriate language or math check for a learner aged 5–12. Approved forms contain 12–24 tasks, with six tasks per sampled domain. Where there is not enough coverage, the platform directs the guide to observation instead of presenting a misleading completed check.

During the check

1. The child signs in with a school-provided student ID and PIN.
2. They choose responses or enter numbers and fractions. “I’m not sure yet” is recorded separately from an incorrect answer.
3. Directions have permanent narration. Reading targets remain separate so listening to instructions does not answer the reading task.
4. Responses save as the child works. The child can pause and return; after a connection interruption, the platform reconciles pending responses.

Independent checks do not show the correct answer after each task. Supervision means supporting access and noticing the process, not coaching answers.

After the check

The guide reviews factual counts by subject and domain alongside observations and classroom work. These are sampled responses, not proof of full material mastery or a calibrated growth measure.

Guides create and save family reports, then print or share them when ready. Drafts stay private to staff. Delivered reports are available to linked parents, and shared report links can be revoked.

A response may suggest a question to revisit with materials. The guide decides what to offer next. MMAS beta results do not automatically make cycle-readiness decisions or send inferred mastery into MMAP.
