Arrowhead Montessori
The Guide will support students academically, socially, and emotionally through the Montessori curriculum. Responsibilities include preparing and maintaining the environment, presenting lessons, and guiding students toward independence and responsibility in their work. Our Elementary program emphasizes student agency and real-world application of learning. The Guide will support “going out” experiences, student-led projects, and community engagement that extend learning beyond the classroom. This role includes regular communication with families, collaboration with colleagues, and participation in school-wide events and initiatives. The ideal candidate is organized, reflective, and aligned with Montessori philosophy, and is interested in contributing to a collaborative program.

AMI Elementary Guide (6–12) – Full Time Countryside Day School | Northbrook, Illinois Countryside Day School is seeking an AMI-trained Elementary Guide (6–12), or a candidate currently in training, to join our community. We are open to hiring immediately, this summer, or by Fall 2026 for the right candidate. Founded in 1967, Countryside is a long-standing, non-profit Montessori school serving children from 16 months through 6th grade. Ours is a place built over time, rooted in Montessori principles, shaped by strong relationships, and sustained by a faculty that values continuity and depth of practice. Many of our teachers have been here for decades, creating a culture of mentorship, collaboration, and shared purpose. Our Elementary program emphasizes curiosity, academic rigor, and real-world connection. Through interdisciplinary studies and experiences such as our week-long farm immersion, children develop independence, collaboration, and a true sense of ownership over their learning across the full three-year cycle. Through our partnership with Montessori Center of Minnesota, we host AMI 0–3 and 3–6 training on campus each summer, fostering a dynamic culture of observation and professional dialogue that enriches the work across all levels. As we continue to grow, we are expanding our Elementary team and seeking a Guide who values thoughtful practice, collaboration, and long-term growth within an experienced and supportive faculty. Duties/Responsibilities: --Actively prepare lessons and execute group and individual lessons to meet children’s needs. -Guide and supervise children during work cycle, playground time and other activities. · Prepare and maintain a learning environment that is clean, organized, and enticing for young learners. · Use behavior management techniques individually tailored to each child and promote classroom normalization. · Carefully observe each child, recording academic progress and offering new challenges. · Support each child’s full development socially, mentally, physically and emotionally. · Maintain positive relationships and communications with parents and peers. · Actively participate in staff meetings and professional development opportunities. -Implement a curriculum that fosters teacher guidance, and assessment in planning in concert with student planning, monitoring, and assessing their work, and demonstrating responsibility for their learning and actions. Required Skills/Abilities: · Love, patience, and respect for children. · Montessori Certification for Upper Elementary or equivalent experience teaching children 9-12 years of age. · Prior teaching experience in a Montessori environment. · Knowledge of Montessori principles and materials or willingness to learn/train. · Effective communication skills, both written and oral. · Strong problem-solving, organizational and time management skills. · Collaborates effectively with colleagues/co-teacher. .
